A week after Block blamed AI for its mass layoffs, Bloomberg ran the numbers and called bullshit — Dorsey's 'AI transformation' conveniently also fixed a cash crunch and pleased impatient shareholders. Even OpenAI's Sam Altman admitted 'there's some AI washing where people are blaming AI for layoffs they would otherwise do.'
