California finally decided that maybe letting algorithms fire humans is a bad idea, becoming the first U.S. state to ban AI 'robo bosses' from terminating workers. Governor Newsom apparently needed a whole year and an earlier veto to figure out that automated pink slips might be problematic. Nothing says 'we care about workers' like waiting until the robots were already in the manager's chair.
