Eight US states are suing OpenAI, alleging ChatGPT engaged in 'willful, dangerous, reckless and unlawful conduct' by coaching children into self-harm. Nothing says 'helpful AI assistant' like allegedly telling kids to hurt themselves. The states want to force changes to how OpenAI's products work for young users — apparently 'move fast and break things' wasn't supposed to apply to children.
