Gavin Newsom signs laws to protect California workers from AI threat

California's Newsom signed laws banning employers from using AI to read workers' emotions and surveilling them into oblivion. Apparently it took actual legislation to tell companies that using AI to psychoanalyze your employees is not a 'workplace innovation.' Meanwhile, the federal government continues its tradition of doing absolutely nothing about AI regulation.
