Microsoft wanted to build a $1 billion AI data center in Kenya, only to discover it would need enough power to literally shut off half the country. Nothing says 'sustainable AI future' like asking a developing nation to choose between electricity for its citizens or cooling your GPU clusters. The project is now stalled because apparently nobody at Microsoft checked if Kenya had a spare power grid lying around.
