Unsealed court docs in the NYT lawsuit reveal OpenAI and Microsoft's own internal documentation called their web scraping the 'largest theft of labor in human history' and warned it would create a 'doom loop' damaging the web. Nothing says 'we're the good guys' like your own memos describing your business model as civilizational sabotage. At least they were self-aware about it before doing it anyway.
