The Seattle Times and Newsday have joined the growing line of publishers suing OpenAI for treating their journalism like an all-you-can-eat training buffet. The outlets allege OpenAI scraped their reporting without permission and its models helpfully regurgitate their work verbatim. At this rate, OpenAI's legal team is going to need its own AI just to keep track of all the lawsuits.
