SpaceX was so eager to discuss AI safety with the NYC Council that they had to be served a subpoena first. Nothing says 'we take safety seriously' like needing legal compulsion to show up and talk about it. Elon's rocket company now forced to address concerns that apparently couldn't be resolved with a friendly email.
