Waymo is recalling 3,871 robotaxis because they might cheerfully barrel into freeway construction zones at full speed. Apparently the cars either prioritize dodging other hazards over noticing giant orange cones, or just don't recognize closed zones at all. Nothing says 'the future of transportation' like autonomous vehicles treating construction workers as optional obstacles.
